Why We Built This Site
Texas provides several public record routes, but no single office holds every part of a Franklin County history. The Franklin County Sheriff and jail maintain sheriff reports, bookings, and custody information. The County Clerk keeps Class A and B misdemeanor files, while the District Clerk keeps felony matters from the 8th and 62nd District Courts. Texas DPS maintains the statewide criminal-history repository, TDCJ handles state custody records, and DPS also operates the public sex offender registry. We organize the verified contacts, fees, official searches, and request steps for those separate custodians.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We are not connected to Franklin County, any Texas court, a police department, the sheriff, DPS, or TDCJ. Those limits matter:
- We cannot issue a certified court document, rap sheet, arrest report, or other official copy
- We cannot submit a Franklin County public-information request, expunction petition, or nondisclosure filing for a reader
- We cannot provide legal advice or apply Texas law to a particular charge or case
- We cannot obtain or run an official criminal-history review for any person
- We cannot promise that an office's fee, schedule, address, or phone line has not changed
Only the record custodian, such as a Franklin County clerk, the sheriff, or Texas DPS, can provide an official criminal record. We can identify the route, but the issuing office must supply the document.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages are supplied by independent third parties. Each provider operates its own service and sets its own prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may result in a referral fee for us, which helps fund public access to this resource. We do not set the provider's charges, compile its results, or control the records it returns.
