Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of Franklin County Criminal History. Opening a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means that you accept all terms below. If you disagree with any condition, stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with Franklin County, Texas, or any other government body. It and its advertising partners do not offer a service for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or any purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The website is a records-reference resource, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. We neither store official criminal records nor retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit filings for a user.

Its role is to identify the Franklin County Sheriff, County and District Clerks, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and other official custodians. Some pages also connect users to independent research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is permitted only if you agree not to:

  • Use automated scraping, bots, or similar tools against the pages
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass anyone using information found here
  • Violate federal, Texas, or local law
  • Use the content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Access systems or information without authorization
  • Interfere with site performance or another person's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No person may use information found here or through a linked tool to stalk, intimidate, harass, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 governs the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, which exists for lawful public-safety awareness. Registry data never authorizes confrontation, retaliation, vigilantism, blacklisting, or discriminatory conduct, and misuse may violate criminal or civil law.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. The same is true of the service presented by our advertising partners. Information from this website or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Assess creditworthiness or determine insurance terms
  • Make a hiring or employment decision
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

Any legally permitted screening for such a purpose must use the appropriate official Texas channel or a service that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Franklin County charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to one set of facts. Consult a Texas-licensed attorney for legal advice.

6. No Warranties

All material is supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • A partner's search result will be complete or correct
  • The website will operate without interruption
  • Every fact remains accurate, complete, and current
  • The pages contain no error, bug, or security weakness

Franklin County records can change when a charge is filed, dismissed, corrected, restricted by nondisclosure, or removed through expunction. Information can therefore lag. Nothing published here is an official statement from a court, sheriff, DPS, or another public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to Franklin County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal-aid resources, and outside search providers. We do not operate those destinations and are not responsible for their accuracy, pricing, availability, content, or data practices. Their own terms apply after a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Franklin County Criminal History or its content partners own the text, logos, graphics, and code used here. Written permission is required before copying, adapting, distributing, or building upon protected content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from use of this website, including reliance on information supplied here or by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms, including applicable provisions of Government Code Chapters 411 and 552. Any lawsuit arising from site use must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A revision becomes effective when the updated terms are posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected term will be modified only to the extent necessary for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
